Scott Lawrence – God

Born and raised in Madrid, Spain, Scott Lawrence currently calls Nashville, TN his home. With a background in opera, Scott holds a M.M in Vocal Performance and has served as an instructor at Alabama School of the Arts since 2016. Scott is also a founding member of the vocal group Veritas and has toured full-time with the 5-person recording group since 2012. Although his training and experience spans multiple styles, from opera, crossover, and pop, to even competing internationally in barbershop, his classical foundation always re-establishes itself as his first musical love. Memorable stage credits include: Balthazar in Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors, Simone in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, Don Basilio in Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Don Bartolo in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, The Secret Policeman in Menotti’s The Consul, the title role in Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Mikado, Jud Fry in Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!, and Grantaire in Les Miserables.

In 2018, Scott had the privilege of performing the role of God in the 25th Anniversary Production of Nelson & Farrell’s Saviour at Carnegie Hall in NYC. When not teaching or traveling with Veritas, you’ll most likely find Scott sharing a cup of craft coffee with his wife Ellie, also an accomplished violinist and vocalist, or practicing his best dad jokes on his daughter, Ivey. Scott is equally as passionate about the visual arts as he is about music and has worked professionally as a visual artist for more than a decade. When not singing, painting, designing, discussing philosophy of the arts and theology, or pursuing the perfect cup of coffee, he is most likely diving into the deep black hole that is Wikipedia.
