    Ocean Way Nashville

Ocean Way Nashville Recording Studios are located in the heart of Nashville’s famed Music Row. Housed in a 100 year old Gothic revival greystone church, Ocean Way Nashville provides exceptional acoustical spaces tuned specifically for music recording in the rich visual beauty of a church sanctuary and building.

Founded in 1996 by legendary studio owners Allen Sides and Gary Belz, the studios were purchased from the founders in 2001 by Belmont University. Ocean Way Nashville remains a fully commercial facility but has added an educational component in conjunction with the school’s College of Entertainment and Music Business. Among the world’s finest recording facilities, it’s client roster reads like a who’s who of the music world spanning a range of styles from pop/rock to country to classical.

Besides being Nashville’s favorite tracking room, Ocean Way Nashville has become the favorite destination in the eastern US for recording strings and orchestral projects including video game and film scores, trailers, pageants, chamber orchestras, quartets, and sweetening on countless hit records. Groups as large as 82 have recorded in the space.

Studio A features 30’ ceilings and 2850 square feet of recording space (including 4 iso rooms) in addition to an 800 square foot control room with an ample producers desk large enough to work with hefty charts. The vintage Neve 8078 is the largest of its type in the world, featuring 80 inputs of pure warm analog audio along with a 64 channel monitoring section. Our proprietary 14 channel cue mixers are stationed at each section so section leaders can adjust cue mixes as needed.

Video monitoring is available both in the control room as well as the studio for scoring sessions.

Studio B features a Neve 96 Channel VRP console with in-house modifications/ improvements. It also features the Ocean Way Audio HD1 monitors and a full Pro Tools system with 48 inputs and outputs. The space is ideal for recording 5-7 piece bands or doing overdubs and mixing. Studio B has the same custom 14 channel cue system as the other studios making tracking sessions run smoother and faster than other similar systems.

Clients over the years include George Strait, Matchbox Twenty, Harry Connick Jr., Faith Hill, The Mavericks, Willie Nelson, Train, Gretchen Wilson, Kenny Chesney, Three Doors Down, Sheryl Crow, Steve Martin, and Paul Simon.

Scoring includes Sony Playstation, Oh Brother Where Art Thou, and many others.
